MUNI UNIVERSITY LAUNCH

On the 2nd of March 2019, NatureUganda achieved its long term target of attaining yet another membership service note in West Nile at Muni University,Arua district. NU is already operating in four existing branches in the Northern region at -Gulu University, in the western region at Mbarara University and in the Eastern region at Busitema and IUIU University respectively.

This activity happened at the time the World Wildlife day was being celebrated and the main celebrations were in Arua district on 3rd March 2019. A series of activities to commemorate the day was organized including the Keep Arua town clean, which was organized by NatureUganda and its branch Members from Muni University

The team was joined by other participants from the Mininstry of Wildlife Trade and Antiquities, Muni University officials, representatives from the Local Government, Arua Police force,

During the Launch, the Executive Director NatureUganda, Mr. Achilles Byaruhanga presented to Members and other guests the history of NatureUganda, congratulated the University upon a successful milestone and applauded the Branch patron for the good cause that he started and has been able to accomplish.

He encouraged the students to emulate such examples noting that its hard work that can only make you successful.

He recognized the effort and support from the University administration towards achieving the Branch at the University. He appreciated the efforts by the Vice Chancelloer-Prof. Christine Dranzoa for instilling the culture of Conservation amongst her students.

The secretariat supported the branch with equipment and other Materials a start up pack for their activities. Among them was a set of Computer, 5 Binoculars, a Telescope, a collection Library books- Reports, Management plans, IBAS, Bird Checklist, among others
