NatureUganda is pleased to announce the upcoming Bi-Annual Conservation Conference, scheduled for May 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed)
NatureUganda, the East Africa Natural History Society, organised the 1st Conservation Conference in Uganda as part of their centenary celebration in 2009. Following the success of the 1st conference, it was agreed that it becomes an activity organised every two years. It is clear that Biodiversity conservation and management is one of the key development priorities in Uganda. However, information flow to guide conservation policy and practice remains a great challenge in the country. This conference is a contribution to solving this challenge by providing an opportunity for Ugandan scientists to showcase their findings. It is also used as a platform for defining priority conservation areas and making recommendations for future conservation and research priorities in Uganda.
Activities will include plenary presentations, paper and poster presentations, as well as workshops or round table discussions of key conservation issues in Uganda. The Conference will take place in May 2025, exact dates and theme will be communicated soon.
