People Partner with Nature for sustainable living
NatureUganda is implementing the PPN II programme titled “Integrating livelihoods and conservation for sustainable living in and around Echuya and Kasyoha Kitomi Central Forest Reserves, Uganda.”
The projects long term objective is reducing the destruction of forested IBAs and contribute to the realization of best participatory forest management practices for the benefit of all.
Key Achievements
- The team trained seed money leaders in financial management and resource
- Nature Uganda trained communities around KK in Human wild life conflict
- Nature Uganda supported CFM leaders to attend Local Government council meetings to present their reports and plans to be incorporated in the district LG development plans
- 40 Trainer of Trainers were trained and 30 energy saving stoves were constructed (8 at churches, 6 at schools, one by People with Disability, 5 by elderly women and 280 in households). 40 in Katanda and 15 in Butoha (adopting parishes)
