Restoring and conserving degraded fragile ecosystems for improved community livelihoods among refugee and host communities (EU)
Nature Uganda is part of the wider consortium of organizations that are implementing various components of the EU funded project on restoring degraded habitats in the refugee hosting communities in the districts of Kyegegwa and Yumbe.
Nature Uganda will work on the following wetlands Komucwezi wetland (in Kyegegwa Town Council), Kyakatwanga wetland and Sweswe (Oruchinga) wetland in Sweswe parish close to the Kyaka 2 Refugee Settlement, Kyegegwa sub county.
Key Achievements
- Biodiversity assessments and Ecosystem Services surveys have been conducted.
- Development of Wetlands restoration plan underway.
- Sensitized communities living at the wetland boundaries.
